The ProGuard – BOLT ON v2 is the evolution of our highly acclaimed bolt on v1 offering outstanding protection with the slickest most factory look available. We have increased fork compatibility, improved bottom out clearance, and added a MAX PROTECTION size so that the v2 is the best most compatible mudguard of its type on the market (MAX PROTECTION size is not recommended for aggressive downhill due to its size).

DESIGN FEATURES IN MORE DETAIL

RUBBER PADS

The sides of the mudguard are flared out to contact and hold onto the fork to create massive stability and protect you forks (clean regularly)

BOLTS

All our bolts are custom designed by us for maximum clamping stability, uniformity, and the most secure fit (only one 3mm allen key needed), this is extremely expensive but necessary as off the shelf options did not meet our standards. The following bolts come supplied in the packaging:

M3 x 2 (FOX / MARZOCCHI)
M4 x 3 (OHLINS)
M6 x 1 (SR SUNTOUR)

The following bolts come with some adapter brackets listed below (purchased separately):

M3 EXTRA LONG x 1 (ZEB / DOMAIN / LYRIK / PIKE ADAPTER BRACKETS)
M4 LONG x 1 (RXF34 FITTING KIT & DVO DIAMOND)
M5 x 2 (EXT ERA / XFUSION)

TILT BRACKETS

We have included two TILT BRACKETS that just clip onto the front of the bracket allowing you to raise or lower the front for a better angle if needed.

ALLEN KEYS

Only one long 3mm Allen Keys is needed for all our custom bolts and self-tappers which is provided in the v2 packaging

STICKER INDENT

The centre indent is a nice easy reference to apply our coloured stickers to, this indent also prevents the sticker from sitting proud on the surface of the guard which would leave it vulnerable to durability issues. The adhesive used is very special and super strong and can be jet washed

SEAL SHIELD

Our widely acclaimed Seal Shield offers greater protection for your fork seals from high velocity mud and spray lengthening service intervals

MATERIAL

We make our mudguard material thicker than the competition out there which together with our unique polypropylene mix allows massive impact protection, flexibility, and importantly cold weather durability and strength.

NB: If you don’t like the gloss highlights then spray the mudguard with GT85 and rub, this will remove the high gloss finish

Fitting the ProGuard BOLT ON

FITTING TO THE FRONT:

IMPORTANT: Mudguard must not be used without our Super Tacky Rubber Pads, replace if the tackiness reduces - (PGBO2ST) ProGuard Bolt On v2 Super Tacky Rubber Pads (Refresh pack) Remove the clear front film and rear backing tape and apply rubber pads to the side wings, they protect your fork legs and provide massive stability
**IMPORTANT** - COOL THE RUBBER PADS IN THE FRIDGE OR FREEZER FOR 10 MINS BEFORE TRYING TO REMOVE THE BACKING AS THIS WILL MAKE IT EASIER, USE A PICK TO SEPARATE
Clean the fork threads and the fork legs MAKING SURE YOU DRY THE THREADS THOROUGHLY
Use correct bolts for your fork (see below), grease and run these into the threads WITHOUT the mudguard which will 'PRIME' and clean the threads before fitting as threads can be blocked

NOTE: M5 Bolts are needed for the EXT ERA / XFUSION TRACE36 forks, these are supplied with (PGERAXFT36) EXT ERA / XFUSION TRACE36 ADAPTER BRACKET
Squeeze the side wings of the mudguard hard and slide under the fork brace from the rear with the wheel in place (for tight fits lightly heat underside with hair dryer to ease fitting)
You should be able to locate the mudguard flush then let go as the rubber side pads will hold it in place (ensure the slots are centrally aligned to the threaded holes on your fork)
Use the 3mm Allen key provided to screw the bolts in EVENLY be careful you DON'T CROSS THREAD THEM, squeeze the wings periodically during tightening to break the seal with the fork
Check alignment of the mudguard, you can use the appropriate TILT BRACKETS supplied (see fig a example below). There are two TILT BRACKETS, one raises and the other lowers the front
You can raise or lower the entire mudguard for more tyre clearance or bottom out clearance
Finally tighten all bolts: MIN: 0.5nm to MAX 1nm - Check each time before riding!

NOTE: ONLY USE THE RRP SUPPLIED RUBBER PADS & BOLTS AS THESE ARE CUSTOM MADE FOR THE MUDGUARD (USING OTHER BOLTS / PADS MAY INVALIDATE WARRANTY - REPLACEMENTS ARE AVAILIBLE TO ORDER)

***VERY IMPORTANT - YOU MUST CHECK TYRE AND BOTTOM OUT CLEARANCE BEFORE USE***

REMOVE THE AIR SLOWLY FROM YOUR FORK AND COMPRESS TO TEST IF THE CSU OF THE FORK HITS THE MUDGUARD WHEN BOTTOMING. ADJUST THE HEIGHT UNTIL THERE IS NO CONTACT - IF YOU CAN'T THEN DO NOT USE

NOTE: ONLY USE THE RRP SUPPLIED BOLTS AS THESE ARE SPECIFICALLY SELECTED OR DESIGNED FOR THE MUDGUARD. REPLACEMENT BOLTS PACKS ARE AVAILIBLE. IMPORTANT - YOU MUST CHECK BOTTOM OUT CLEARANCE, LET THE AIR OUT OF YOUR FORK AND COMPRESS TO TEST IF THE FORK HITS THE MUDGUARD WHEN BOTTOMING. LOWER THE MUDGUARD THROUGH THE SLOTS IF YOU NEED MORE CLEARANCE, IF YOU CAN'T LOWER FURTHER THEN DO NOT USE

Important

Bolts must be checked before each ride to ensure the mudguard issecure
Remove mudguard every few rides to clean the brace / threads / fork legs / rubber pads
DO NOT USE IN STICKY / CLAGGY MUD AS IT MAY BLOCK AND CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE
MIN CLEARANCES - 15mm from the tyre when fitted and 10mm from the frame (on bottoming)
INSPECT BEFORE YOU RIDE: DO NOT USE IF DAMAGED IN ANY WAY AS CONTINUED USE MAY LEAD TO FAILURE OR INJURY
